Nightbitch 2024
As a huge fan of the book, I think they did pretty okay translating it to a movie. I do feel like the movie cheapened and downplayed Mother’s experience that she had the book, some scenes even reading as comical. I’m disappointed it lacked the viscera and unflinching nastiness that was so prominent in the book. As Mother described, childbirth “is perhaps the most violent experience a human can have”, and so she embodied that violence as Nightbitch, her body…
