Stomach hurts, pure grief and anger for 95 minutes. What stood out to me the most, though, were the brief moments of humor and joy: cracking ironic and self-deprecating jokes, children ecstatic and enthusiastic to go to school (it’s no wonder why Palestinians have such high literacy rates, up to 96 and 99%), children throwing snowballs at each other during winter; small acts of resistance amidst an ethnic cleansing and genocide.

Lot of jumpscares: sudden loud noises, gunshots, transgenders (😱), gay guys (🤢), Richard Nixon, and my favorite one — Bill Clinton. “Scariest movie of the year” if you’re J.K Rowling. If Nic Cage — who’s doing his best…

With how unsubtle this is I wish it went further into exploring how food production isn’t the issue, but rather food distribution and food waste — both driven by corporate interests and profit margins.

Reminds me a lot of a food production exploitation unit we did in my high school AP Lang class, and this would’ve made for great supplemental material, so this is probably the only time I’ll say I wish the language was toned down to get a…
