Heretic 2024
A lot of interesting ideas are in play here, and while not all of them come together neatly at the end, it still made a solid impression on me.
Hugh Grant is absolutely sensational and elevates this film in a way that not a lot of actors could with the same script. Sophie Thatcher (new scream queen?) and Chloe East also shine in the presence of a truly powerful horror performance.
The first 30-40 minutes absolutely rule, and it mostly lands at the end despite what I said earlier.
Definitely one to think about afterwards.

Bong Joon Ho has the nearly impossible and least envious task of following up Parasite. How do you do so? By creating something that is so far from that film.
With this, expecting a Parasite-esque film will only disappoint you. I do think this was the correct direction to take by him.
