Okay so besides like 5 things, this movie has aged perfectly to still be as relevant now as it was then… which SUCKS the more I think about it. My GOD it’s 2025. This movie, if made today, would send MAGA Conservatives to the ER.
That being said, everyone should watch it.

As a life-long Oz fan, I always wanted a movie version of WICKED. I’ve seen the 1939 Wizard of Oz probably around 1,000 times, and was obsessed with The Wiz in 5th Grade (no matter how terrifying that subway scene is), as well as Muppets Wizard of Oz, Tin Man, Return to Oz, Witches of Oz, Once Upon a Time’s use of Oz, and even (briefly) Oz the Great & Powerful.
