Festival of the Living Dead 2024
I’d say it’s a fun watch if it wasn’t for one specific character. One character is so just awful every second he’s on the screen. Not that this movie would be great without him, it has messy writing and weird inconsistencies. I mainly watched it because it’s directed by the Soska sisters, so their obligatory cameo was well appreciated. One thing that took me out a bit was them referring to the zombies as zombies. As a sequel to the og NotLD, they never refer to them as such so it was odd, but that’s just me being nitpicky

The first half of this movie is definitely better than the rest. Good tension and build up to a final act that just feels very messy and confusing. The mom was secretly worse than Jacob the entire time? She definitely sucked, invading his privacy by putting cameras everywhere including his bedroom?? But again Jacob has nazi memorabilia and is a serial animal abuser, and possibly poisoned his friend. Everyone in this movie sucks. The performances are good though
