Gruelling. Poignant. Spectacularly beautiful. Doesn’t offer many answers but the questions it asks about mission vs colonisation, religious vs economic persecution, and faith vs pragmatism keep me interested if feeling any kind of connection to any of the characters does not. This review, I’m sure, will change whenever I watch this again.
