This film is not only manipulative but also ideological biased. The poor are portraied pretty one dimensional. Especially the scene, where the quiet girl was cleaning of the dust from the table was horrible. As if some dust on a table has something to do with a bad sorrounding.
I recommend to watch some movies of Hirokazu Koreeda, which are way more complex and interesting but with similar themes.
Economical status can change your childhood no question about that, but…
