It was a great honor to attend Harucon 2025, the largest anime/manga convention in Israel. The Colors Within (2024) was a cute and endearing film with beautiful animation, though at times it felt somewhat artificial. While the audience seemed to enjoy it more than I did, it was still a pleasant and memorable experience overall.

The film presents this tension through its iconic imagery, like the two fists representing love and hate, which of course don’t coexist peacefully. It reminded me of a similar visual metaphor from The Night of the…

I’ve decided to dive into the filmography of Akira Kurosawa, widely regarded as the master of samurai films, and I began with Rashomon (1950), considered his first great work. What immediately caught me off guard was the cinematography, so unique and groundbreaking, with camera angles and techniques that were almost unheard of at the time. The film is not just visually stunning, but it also presents a powerful exploration of the subjectivity of truth.…
