The Count of Monte Cristo 2002
I just read the book and it’s now one of my favorites. I think this was a great screen adaptation although the elaborateness of the Count’s revenge plot is downplayed a bit. This is expected since there are far too many characters from the book for the viewer to keep up with. I think some of the suspense of the book is traded for action on the big screen, but the gist of the story is still captured entertainingly.
