Like Father, Like Son 2013
Kore-eda is fast becoming one of my favourite directors.
All the characters were so interesting, and the film treats them with a lot of care.
One of the scenes in the movie reminded me of a scene in Columbus, and another reminded me of a scene in After Yang. It’s possible it’s just a coincidence, but know Kogonada, I assume it was intentional.

- unpredictable through out; the movie goes directions that you don’t expect, but still make perfect sense in its worldIf I have any criticism, it’s that the character shift at the start of the movie is a bit abrupt and doesn’t feel super believable. But it’s early enough that you can kind of ignore the part before, and the rest of the movie is so good that it more than makes up for it.
