Director Mike Leigh reunites with Marianne Jean Baptiste as she leads the cast of this one as the embittered pansy, who lives her life in her suburban apartment with her antisocial son and his early 20s, and her husband who tries to make ends meet in his trade job… The bit she deals with is Only penetrable by her sister, who is a solar mother with her two daughters, trying to find their way through their own…

Let’s be honest, I’m not a fan of the Kendricks Brothers movies as a cinematic experiences; the screenplays seem inauthentic, and the plot lines seem way too on-the-nose with very unnatural settings that make the movies feel more like sermons.

Branagh directs this masterful Semi-Autobiographical film which walks the tightrope of delight and disdain in 1969 Ireland, chronicling the life of a protestant family from the perspective of Buddy (introducing the discovery that is Jude Hill) during the advent of "the Troubles" where independent loyalists stage attacks and riots on the street where the family lives in protest against Catholicism.

So good to see Dreamworks produce such an engaging narrative around an original heartfelt story of a AI robot who ended up washed on an island, and learns to live with the rainforest animals whilst learning what it means to integrate with nature.

The vibrant dreamworks new animation style (aka the last puss in boots film) seems even more fitting with the juxtaposition of the nature scenes and the robot herself (voiced immaculately by Lupita Nyongo).

A little bit longwinded, but definitely well worth the big screen viewing experience me and my kids enjoyed - yes all three of them!
