  If the story doesn't tell the victim narrative you want, just rewrite it in a Hollywood movie... Beyond that, the whole thing is just poorly written, poorly directed, incredibly boring unfocused and way too long, the acting is wooden, the editing terrible, the soundtrack a complete disaster, and there is this distinct low-budget TV feel (like in 'The Gorge').

  Oh my... what a glorious mess. Cage goes full Cage, and somehow, idk, it almost works. His typical intense performance adds an unexpected charm, but the convoluted, completely insane plot and inconsistent pacing hold the film back. Despite its flaws, "Between Worlds" is a bizarre ride that might appeal to Cage fans, even if it doesn't fully deliver as a supernatural thriller.

  Ich weiß nicht, aber ich habe seit langer Zeit keinen so außergewöhnlichen deutschen Film mehr gesehen - außergewöhnlich "guten" deutschen Film. Er hat mich vollkommen annektiert, berührt, in seinen Bann gezogen und sprachlos zurückgelassen. Ein herrausragender Film mit zwei grandiosen Hauptdarstellern. Kaum zu glauben, dass der Streifen größtenteils improvisiert wurde und die restlichen Mitwirkenden einfach "nur" Mitarbeiter des Hotels sind. ...und @jacker hat es absolut richtig auf den Punkt gebracht und ich schließe mich an: "Ich glaube, ich habe noch nie einen Film gesehen, der sich so authentisch und dabei gleichzeitig doch so fimisch anfühlt."

  Supernatural psychological horror at its finest. Really surprising for me, in the most positive sense. I don't think I've seen such a thrilling, clever and atmospheric genre-film in a long time. Storytelling, structure, pacing, sound décor - everything is in the right place here. Furthermore, this fantastic camera work along with an incredible picture composition (keyword: shadow play), which produces exhilarating film stills every minute; not to mention the 3 outstanding leading actresses Emma Roberts, Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Boynton.…
