Donnie Darko 2001
Rewatched the movie again the last night with a friend and I still love and adore Donnie's family, especially his parents. The way they're supportive and trying their best to be there for their mentally ill son, it's just such nice character writing, they could have gone the lazy easy route and made them terrible non understanding parents but Donnie really does have the best family for a situation like his.
You can feel the love between characters like a real family, it's so nicely written and acted.
