Demi Moore you deserve so much for this performance.
I think anyone who has witnessed firsthand what the entertainment industry does to women will laugh and cringe at this movie. There are so many moments when the producers in this movie seem comically evil, but that’s really how they are!

When I talk about movies having juice, this is what I’m talking about. This movie has just got “it.” My favorite thing about this movie is how inescapable it makes Jim Crow era racism. You see a young boy literally tortured by this system and then you fast forward to see him as an adult in the early 2000s.
People you know lived through nightmares that we try to put further back in history books than where they belong.

I’m sure there was a deeper meaning in this movie. I’m sure there’s so much more to say. I’m sure there’s plenty to be said about the acting performances, directing, and cinematography.
But all I can think of now is how much I miss my dad. How much I wish I’d gotten to know him better. I think that sums movie up perfectly.
