"Lost in Translation" ages like a fine sake, better with time and a touch of maturity. Revisiting it years later, the film’s quiet melancholy and existential musings hit deeper, though its cringe-worthy “Japanese quirks” feel more dated than a flip phone. Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson’s chemistry remains effortlessly charming, capturing the beauty of fleeting connections in a world that feels both vast and suffocating. As Bob says to Charlotte at the end: “The more you know who you are, and what you want, the less you let things upset you.”

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim 2024
The War of the Rohirrim provides a nostalgic return to Middle-earth, blending epic battles with heartfelt storytelling. The animation is stunning, and the tale of Helm Hammerhand is as gripping as it is tragic. Plus, who doesn’t love a good ol’ Rohirrim charge? As one character aptly puts it, ‘The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep, one last time!’ Spoiler: it does, and it’s glorious. A must-watch for Tolkien fans

American Fiction 2023
The dumbing down of America is evident in the slow decay of substantive content, a kind of celebration of ignorance.
