Forgot how enjoyable this thing is. Also noticed, for the first time, how 40 Year Old Virgin stole the waxing scene from here. Pretty close to a perfect rom-com.

Sound of Freedom 2023
Being a true story made this very hard to watch at times, but I think that’s also the point. Great revenge thriller carried by Jim Caviezel. The two child actors were also phenomenal. Movie wise it’s solid all the way around. 3 and half stars.

Wait it’s getting more real.
Spoilery ish review. This movie slowly sunk into me. I loved it. There’s a scene with a father and son on a rooftop that, in the moment, I thought was the most heartbreaking thing I’d seen this year, only to be followed be an even more heartbreaking scene (well mostly single line) later on. The grown ups line. Acting wise… Moore is solid and Portman is fantastic, but the real standout is Charles Melton. One of my fav performances of the year that’ll prob stick with me for a while along with Portmans. Perfect ending.

Sexy. Stylish. Daring. Riveting. All Hail Emerald Fennell. She’s now 2 for 2. Zero notes. This movies set in the summer of 2007 for the most part and it just oozes sexual, sweaty, summer energy that feels so nostalgic in all the right ways. The pop culture movie references and music choices are great. Perfectly cast and every performance is top tier but Barry Keoghan is the clear stand out. His chemistry w Nate Jacobs reached Brokeback levels at times.…
