A beautiful film that dives into interpersonal relationships within a family dynamic in the midst of loss. Two grandparents, a daughter and her two children, and a son who is dating a widow with a child all gather once a year to remember the loss of a son and brother 10 years ago. A delicate tale with immense commentary on grief and how one leads their life in its midst.
Bette Davis is always a treat and Karl Malden is never in a bad movie. The cliffhanger, however, was cheap and quite frankly a dead end.. it left you wanting significantly more than a typical cliffhanger does. Not an ideal situation.
Has been and always will be a phenomenal classic. Made by one of my favorite directors, Billy Wilder, he brings Agatha Christie’s brilliant story to life. Marline Dietrich is absolutely wonderful as always.
