  Trainspotting 1996

  I much prefer Danny Boyles earlier films. The references to a clockwork orange are clear as day, first with the narration and in particular the slow zoom into the nightclub as tommy and spud discuss their girlfriends is practically the same shot that Kubrick uses in the opening scene of ACO. As both films are based on books I take it this was Boyles own doing and it’s perfect.

  The Big Lebowski 1998

  Absolute classic comedy, the Big Lebowski grows on me more every time I watch it.
  Easily one of my favourite John Goodman performances I’ve seen so far although “that’s just like your opinion, man”. The choice of Bob Dylan and creedences music is perfect for the Dude and how he rolls. Weed, White Russians and the search for the perfect rug, everybody should be more like the Dude. 
  Sometimes I wish Donny would shut the fuck up.
