The Substance 2024
This film had incredible potential, but everything fell apart in the final act. The performances from both lead actresses were brilliant and grounded and the cinematography was well-crafted. For a while, I was immersed in the story’s slow burn. However, the last hour was a letdown. The pacing unraveled, and the narrative choices felt forced and incoherent, diminishing the impact of the earlier scenes. It was as if the film forgot its own thematic depth and opted for shock value. By the end, the disconnect was so jarring that I found myself putting on my jacket and my bag, ready to leave the movie theatre 💆🏻♀️💆🏻♀️💆🏻♀️

The Count of Monte Cristo 2024
Excellent movie! The book is huge so I don’t blame them for having fast paced scenes at times (still had 3 hours of exciting storyline). Gave 4 stars because of that, but honestly one of my fav movies this year.
