Honestly considered giving this film a higher review. I rly do enjoy melancholy and the metaphor of loneliness & being “lost” in both a foreign country and their relationships/lives. An incredibly relatable film of feeling lost and lonely in a bustling city, yet finding the beauty of these emotions through yearning. I loved the way Wong Kar-wai set up such a moody yet realistic atmosphere, it really felt like I opened a door to 1990s HK and peered into the lives of some familiar strangers! I’m forever impressed by certain shots he captures in his films.
