The Haunting of Bly Manor 2020
love love loved this. only moderately scary except for a handful of shots but pretty much all of the characters are fantastic and it’s a beautiful and haunting love story. i need more gay romance horror pieces in my life

Nosferatu 2024
eggers worst movie. still really entertaining and a pretty striking final shot. main issue is just that the source material is so unsubtle. eggers tries to mold the 1922 story into a horror fit for 2024, and succeeds at times, but there were just as many times when i was pulled out of suspended disbelief and found myself wanting to giggle at nosferatus silly accent or something. most of the scenes without nosferatu were good though.

very good underlying story and the first 2 thirds are great… and then it turns into scooby doo and they pull off the mask and the evil plot is revealed… twice, and the cartoon continues until the end—it could have been so much messier and more visceral and real, and still kept all the same structural elements. enjoyable but a letdown in the end
anna kendrick is fantastic as always. blake lively is only the actress she is capable of being but she wears some of the cuntiest outfits in cinema
it’s worth a watch but it doesn’t deliver on its potential
