I watched this on an airplane, on the screen of someone sitting in front of me so I was simply watching the subtitles, and even then I enjoyed it. And then I went back home and watched it online.
The ending is a little weak, but other than that, I really really like this film. Su-ji kicks some ass, here.
I've always liked Martha Argerich, and so I would probably would've liked this documentary anyway since it would've given me a valuable glimpse into her world and her as a person. On top of that, her daughter Stephanie structured this documentary very well, I quite like the opening scenes, the often appropriate use of Argerich's playing Ravel to accompany various non-dialogue footages and how the "mystery" of what happened with Lyda (Stephanie's older half-sister) and why she couldn't live with…

I watched this sometime in May-June 2016.
I thought this was very good, particularly on three fronts:
1) I appreciated how they adapted an English novel for a Japanese setting - I thought it worked splendidly and have no complaints (and I also though, why does English children's literature have such a fascination for Studio Ghibli? Cf. Diana Wynne Jones and Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea. Are there commonalities in both Japanese and English storytelling traditions for children?); I haven't read…
Watched this during the Winter Break of my sophomore year at College, I think.
I can't really give it a rating - the technological limitations during when this miniseries was shot prevent it from being as good as it could've been, but there's still an odd haunting magic about it. Which the original book by Alan Garner had, but it was nice to see it translate well to this mini-series adaptation.
