Gladiator II 2024
Trying to do too much in a franchise that was built on simplicity. Lazy writing to tie the sequel to the original. Great fight scenes with cool depictions of coliseum battles.

Half of the movie Orlock was scary and the other half less so. I felt the tone of the first half was dark/ominous in a way that built tension greatly. I wish this tone would have persisted throughout the film and into the last act. By the end of the movie I was so used to seeing orlock that I didn’t find his plot and motivation intimidating. Overall, above average film with great tone and unnerving atmosphere.
