Do you know that feeling when you experience something at undeniably yet incomprehensibly the exact moment you were meant to? Like the abandoned idea of predestination is substantiated once again. For me, this most commonly occurs when watching film; this movie was one of these times. And I cannot believe that this has any bearing to watching the specific title on the crest of February 14th while self-charitably chiseling chunks of chocolate from bars sent by my ex-boyfriend. Yes, God, Yes 2019
A perspective of the beloved Kairos I didn’t know I needed. The familiarity is reminiscent of Lady Bird but less “fab forties” and more middle of buttfuck nowhere, Idaho. Gives me some of the christian disappointment seen in The Miseducation of Cameron Post and Boy Erased. Contains good growth of character, some laughable moments, and a fun lesbian bar scene. An enjoyable watch.
