    Simplicity is best, horror movies are no exception. Incredible performances all around, especially Britany Snow. Overhead shot of the lake is one of the best sequences I've ever seen in any film, and again its simplicity is what elevates it's spookiness.

    Reading about this film afterwards, I can completely see how it inspired and guided films like Saw, Hostel, and Human Centipede that came only a few years after. Beyond it's gruesome and bloody hack and slash, the real terror comes from the individual capable of performing these grotesque acts and their history that allows them to torture with equal parts precision and glee.
