Despite the lack of diversity (barely passed the Bechdel test), the quality of writing this movie possesses goes beyond what I previously comprehended. The jokes hit, the story lines connected beautifully, and Jacen didn’t talk during the entirety of the film.

I watched this movie with my friends Khaled and Egan. I had tried watching it before, but had never gotten all the way through. Khaled tends to do this thing where he assigns us characters and I got assigned the alcoholic loner who has writers block, Colin Ferrel. Egan’s character was much cooler, he got Sam Rockwell, one of the psychopaths in the movie Seven Psychopaths. Khaled’s character was an older gentlemen portrayed by Christopher Walker, he liked peyote and hit all the DEIB checkpoints. All in all I had a good time.
I had the house to myself on a snowy night last December. I grabbed a blanket and two miller highlifes (unbeknownst to me, champagne of beer). I’ve never felt so comforted by a film and a moment.
