I’d use the word haunting. Every scene is constructed with thoughtful intent, each shot is nearly a composition, sometimes feeling like paintings more than real life. I feel this beauty contrasts not only the environment but the characters themselves,, although travis attempts to remedy his past mistakes, he ends up again being self-serving in a way… how is that a resolution? He kidnaps his son and leaves him alone with his mom who already proved she couldn’t take care of…
