Really enjoyed this movie! Loved the focus on the music and the amount of songs put into this. I‘m not a big fan of biopics, since most of the time I find them a bit pompous, but in this case it is a beautiful insight into the early to mid 60s and very interesting from a musical point of view.
Gives me nostalgia for a time I haven’t lived yet.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, but the ending threw me off a bit. It just didn‘t fit the overall vibe of the movie in my opinion. It also felt a bit like the movie was trying to make the Catholic Church look good in the end. That in its core it wants to change and be good. Which feels weird after having seen everything that happened before in the movie.
But great cinematography and acting and I wasn‘t bored a minute. Also love that they didn‘t make a 3 hour movie out of this, so I feel like it deserves 4 stars.Translated from by -

Why did nobody ever recommend this Scorsese movie to me? Thought my friends would know that a suffering but very handsome Daniel Day Lewis in a 19th century setting is exactly my type of movie?! I mean, come on 🥹
