  My thoughts are rattled with this film. Did Eggers do justice in this adaptation…?  The film was a beautiful piece of cinematography, colour palette work, soundtrack and captivating framing however it still felt like a typical horror movie, that lacked any creative EGGERS style effects. I do believe the film was overhyped to an extent that I was expecting more to be shown; something more distinct and different.  Either way it still deserves a watch, but I do hope this does not become a mainstream HOLLYWOOD style that Eggers hopes to pursue. The A24 creativity is what ought to remain.
