Not afraid to let things take place in real time. Western themes come up against horror. When the bone tomahawks show up, it’s all very visceral.
A bunch of recognisable characters come together in a nicely shot, reasonably paced movie. The violence feels real -- nasty and short -- but Arthur's god really does seem to be protecting him.
They don’t make 'em like this anymore.
Watched on a lazy Sunday afternoon, this version of the 'two opposing character types thrown together by circumstances' story worked pretty well. Some cringe mixed in with the good stuff, but you can't expect a movie this old to avoid that.
