I can imagine the pitch: ‘think Inglourious Basterds meets The Fast and the Furious.’
It’s fun but dumb, and it has an unusual amount of self awareness. At times, there are beautifully shot scenes, but the story and dialogue seem to try and check off as many action movie tropes as they can, in a very blatant way. And yet, it’s based on a true story—go figure.
Anyway, it’s been fun to watch!
