Honestly, this was quite good! It’s almost scarily contemporary in what it clearly references, which makes me wonder when certain parts were filmed. While not my favorite movie of Bong Joon-Ho, this was still a very solid project with an excellent story that never once felt like it was following a typical formula. It surely stands out because of that!
Anyways, be ready for Mark Ruffalo’s not-so-subtle Trump impression (it’s very funny).

Alien: Romulus 2024
This was pretty good! Honestly, I was a little worried since I wasn’t a fan of what Fede did with Evil Dead (2013), but he did an excellent job here. Its use of practical effects really did help sell a more grounded experience reminiscent of the original Alien, which this films picks up right after. It works really well as a sequel this way and has great homage to that original and other films of the franchise.

Moonlight 2016
This was a very strong coming of age story. It really does a great job of conveying how much we’re affected by our surroundings in our upbringing. My only issue is that for under two hours it does have very slow pacing. Besides that I think the characters here had good depth and it can be quite heartbreaking at points, thankfully with a sweeter ending than expected.
