The Thing 1982
Jake and I got to see this movie in 35 mm at the museum of moving image and it was really,really cool! Loved all of the practical effects and that they were so many different characters. I could never really tell what the next move was gonna be and I love how everybody had their own distinct ending for the most part. Just the practical effects along omg all the gore. I feel like this had to be an inspiration…

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl 2024
This was a really amazing movie. So good it made me want to use Letterboxd again. First, of all -length. Perfection. 87 minutes, every other director should take notes. The claymation mixed with the practical effects was honestly so great. The plot was concise and easy to follow along and made sense. It was predictable in the best ways, but also had me on the edge of my seat. It was FUNNY- I laughed out loud many times. So clever. It was the most fun 87 minutes I’ve had all year.

Beautiful film. Cried, laughed. Goes without saying but absolutely incredible performances by Carrie, Elizabeth, and Natasha. One of the best and most accurate portrayals of the final days of a loved one. Fully invested in this movie, one of my favorites I’ve seen all year (or ever for that matter)
