  A paper-thin plot that doesn’t… quite make sense but it doesn’t stop the movie from being an absolute riot with surprises I legitimately wasn’t expecting.

  Though overlong and, again, too reliant on cgi, Dial of Destiny is a fun film. There is a weighty sadness to Ford’s portrayal of Indy that I deeply admired and identified with. And I really enjoyed Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s take on Helena Shaw. 

  Where Kingdom of the Crystal Skull felt lifeless and like no one actually wanted to be there, Dial of Destiny feels like Jim Mangold had a purpose. Though I think it’s far from his best work, it’s definitely not bad.
