Wow... maybe some of the humor didn't age all that well but gosh it gave me a BUNCH of laughs deep in the belly.

What a fascinating movie! Explored concepts of post-Frankenstein worlds, scientific explorations of perfection, sex work, feminist concepts of motherhood (in some weird, weird ways), and all set in a fantasmical storyworld! Now time to go and read the book!

What a silly and scary movie! Can't believe I hadn't seen this gem of a horror movie before, but had the chance to watch it on the big screen at the Kenworthy cinema in Moscow, Idaho. Was a PACKED theater and great atmosphere to laugh and be scared. The movie is definitely of its time and has some slightly questionable humor, but outside of this, the movie hits every box in a cheesy old time movie I am looking for!
