Civil War is a timely piece from psychological thriller artist Alex Garland.
The film depicts an apocalyptic world where citizens of the torn United States either kill each other or live a displaced life.
The film excels at senseless violence without any pretense or depth behind the environment we are thrown into. Some may argue that is the point, but despite strong performances from Dunst and Henderson, as well as a solid cameo from Plemons, the movie feels weak. I’m left wanting much, much more… knowing the impact Garland was seeking to make.
