Huge oversight on my part since I just watched this for the very first time recently.
This film is one of the most emotionally draining experiences I’ve ever had. It seriously wrecked me.
It almost doesn’t feel like you’re watching a film. It feels like you’re being let in as a spectator and witnessing everything Gena Rowlands is going through (and yes, her performance is just as incredible as everyone says it is).
I’m not sure if I can ever rewatch it again but that does not take away from how brilliant it is.
