Not great! But a breezy watch nonetheless with some genuinely earned laughs. Wish it were more consistent with the quality of its humor, but it literally fluctuates from scene to scene. It’s almost like they shot 300 scenes, laid them out like cards in the editing room, and had way too many cooks in the kitchen making the “That’s funny! Put it in!” call.

Asteroid City 2023
Pretty colors and quirky ennui. That’s all I really want from this guy’s movies. Idk why he feels he has to use a framing device for his stories (a stage play, in this case), an aspect that really didn’t work for me here— but even so, it didn’t detract from how fun and charming the main narrative is.
