Yeahhhhh the first scene had me sooo fucking transfixed I love how Kurosawa just let the actors stay in the shot even when they weren’t the conversational focus but they would just stay in the foreground with their heads hung. Such a theater move and it really helped with the weight of the scene. Do theater shit without saying weird stuff like Shakespeare or randomly breaking out into song and dance like a bunch of psychopaths (imma say here and now I do not fuck with musicals)
