It took me a moment at the end there to fully comprehend exactly what I had just bared witness too…

It was a revelatory moment for me. To see a man express his thoughts so clearly and creatively in a way that paints such a vivid picture of one’s hopes, dreams and aspirations all within the 2 and a bit hour run-time was something to behold.

    Fellini, I applaud you sir.

(To those who follow my letterboxd, you are all gonna think that i rate everything at 5 stars at the moment because i've been diving into some incredible works of cinema)

I finished watching this film and had to take a moment to just realise the absolute wonder of what I had just consumed. From beautiful visuals, to a gripping character-driven story that confronted life in such a raw way, I have nothing much to say as I am lost…

I wish this film didn’t feel shallow. It’s like they removed most of what makes Frida Kahlo such an important woman in the art world and the world of feminism, and instead reduced her to being “just another female lead who has relationship issues”.
Oh. And the fact that at times it feels as though her character is oddly fetishised?

This film had so much potential in my mind, I would certainly not be against a re-make of this film nowadays as I find Frida’s work and her story incredibly fascinating.

    This movie just wasn’t it.

“This fucker gets more Pussy than a toilet seat”.

This is engrained in my brain and the voices won’t stop.

Not an especially standoutish approach in the editing or shooting of this little doc, but I found what she had to say quite interesting and it was a very good watch :)

Eggers doesn’t miss. I am firmly rattled and scared to walk to my car in the dark.
