  A New Zealand body horror film about beauty & dysphoria that would feel like it was ripping off THE SUBSTANCE if they weren’t released so close to each other. 
  It’s a lot of fun, the actors to a great job with the campy tone and getting to, sort of, play multiple characters. But starts to run out of steam near the end and I was hoping it would go harder on the gore and explore it’s main concept a little further.
  Great end title sequence though, I’m a sucker for creative typography.

  Showed my mum her first J-horror movie, one of my favourites, on the great new Arrow blu-ray remaster. 
  Genuinely shilling faux documentary that gets better each time as you notice more intricate detail. Followed with the deleted scenes that, while unnecessary to the final film, add just that touch more worldbuilding.

  Like Austin Powers, but crazier, hornier, and made in the 70’s before Austin Powers. 

  So, yeah, it’s the Japanese Austin Powers.
