  One of the worst Best Picture nominees I’ve ever seen. Bad musical. Bad screenplay. Mediocre at best acting. A political mess. Rarely entertaining. Only thing holding it back from half a star is that it’s… unique? I don’t know, it felt fresh even if it was in a bad way.

  I loved it. Is it kinda a rehash? Yeah. Is it missing Zimmer’s score? Yeah. Does the plot get a bit messy? Kinda. BUT… I was thoroughly entertained. Denzel was great, the action was great, I actually really enjoyed the pacing. Idk… I had fun with it. It’s far from the masterpiece that is Gladiator, but GII leaves enough of an impression on me to say that I enjoyed it. A lot.

  Why is this a movie? Why is the message of this movie basically explained by the characters with no nuance? Why do people consider this to be some kind of girl power movie when its message is very basic without any consideration for how the real world works? Every other Gerwig movie does a better job at portraying women’s complexities than this one. Wish it was a bit deeper and actually had some subtle storytelling and wasn’t some force fed script that wasn’t even rlly that fun either (outside of Gosling).
