    Takada Wataru Teki: Zero

Could this be the most random and out of place film in Koji Shiraishi's entire filmography? Honestly, I think it might be, as long as you don't include his early foray directing a handful of adult films.

This is a posthumously released documentary about folk singer Wataru Takada. And serves as a sequel to the 2004 film "Takada Wataru Teki (which was made to introduce Takada to a younger generation).

The majority of the film is concert footage from a…

And the award for the most useless spiritual medium goes to...

For some reason a lot of people seem to think this is an official entry to the Ringu series? But just to be clear, it is not. It's just another movie about a girl who dresses in white, has long black hair and is named Sadako. And surprisingly, it's not the worst as far as these types of Sadako movies go! (that honor still belongs to Sadako Returned)

The theme song of the movie is pretty good btw (and the music video has better production value than the movie it's featured in).

    I decided to…

Koji Shiraishi's Never Send Me, Please

Had the opportunity to watch it live earlier this week, with Koji himself chatting during the film.

Despite Koji's "Kowasugi!" series coming to a close last year, it didn't take him long to release another found-footage film. Although comparisons between Kowasugi! and this film are easy to draw. I'd say this film is considerably different from that series.

While Kowasugi! often focuses more on the investigations, this film doesn't (despite what the synopsis might make you believe). Less than 15…
