I don’t think this movie is as much about holocaust as it is about cousins (might as well be about friends) who have pending matters to deal with. Poland probably comes from Eisenberg’s own past, which is fine, I think. The thing is, despite it being about a culture to which I don’t relate as much, is it a universal topic enough? I do think so.
