The non-cut version really likes to hammer you on the head with too much exposition and scenes taking you out of the flow. When out of this flow, the film's outdated facets become more obvious and in-your-face.
This watch honestly felt like a slog. Not at all comparable with my previous experience watching the director's cut. Or perhaps it was just the shitty TV.
