I was initially drawn to the theme of this film, the sexual deviances of nocturnal creatures, the underground gay culture, the fetishism etc. expecting to find some sort of parallels to Jean Genet's work (fassbinder's adaptation being unmatchable in this) or a parallel to bataille's 'transgression'. I unfortunately found nothing like that.
What I found instead was many interesting aspects of the story being left unexplored, neglected or straightforwardly removed for the sake of squeezing a couple more of naked…
