The 1 star is for the Alien-Predator Hybrid. Unfortunately, this film was not enjoyable to watch from terrible edit, insanely difficult to even see what is going on, and so many minor characters that you do not care for at all. No fun new lore is introduced, it's just trying to give you some fun kills but fails completely at doing so.
As the movie started out I was really not onboard for the direction they were taking the story and was worried it was going to end up like 2 & 3, but they surprised me by bringing back the heart, subversion, and most importantly the kick-ass soundtrack so much so that I might enjoy this one over the first.
While it doesn't quite live up to the expectations of the first Matrix, I really enjoyed this film despite how convoluted Matrix Reloaded made the universe.
