Never will you be so ready to slap a group of children...
I'm surprised at how controversial the film seems to have been. One could definitely raise the question of whether partial selection of the reality to be portrayed can be harmful, but on its own this film is a retelling of real events that stretch our empathy to its limit. The third item in the unofficial 'Salta' Trilogy demonstrates once again that Martel is in complete control of her craft and knows how to direct absolutely searing cinema. The Headless Woman follows a middle-aged woman after she runs something over with her car. For the next hour and a half Martel places the camera inside the woman's psychological space.
