I mean, yes it's a very well made movie, but it's forggetable and kind of bland. It has a very formulaic way of story telling.
To me, it's the perfect example of an Oscar bait movie.

It's deeply perturbing, filled with details and captivating scenes. It takes it's time to make you feel like the protagonist (Ephraim). At first you know nothing about the characters on screen, you just belive who they say they are. But as the time goes by strange events happen in the iland, making you suspect everything, much like Ephraim does. He slowly cuestions the truth and it gets him to a point of madness. By the end, niether you nor Ephraim can distinguish reality from hallucinations. Great acting, score and cinematography.

It's hilarious. I laughed out loud ay most of the jokes the movie makes, it has an absurd sense of humor that works fits so well into the story and characters.
But i must say, it surffers greatly because of the short runtime. I would have liked to see the movie take it's time with how the characters change and develop, it feels like there's a lot of lost potencial.Translated from by
