  I was a bit sceptical about this film, it looked like a film that had been done a hundred times before. Its saving grace was Mark Wahlberg, who rarely makes a turkey, and is easy on the eye. It was better than I thought, had several laugh out loud guffaw moments, but isnt going to be winning any Oscar's any time soon.

  Oh boy I loved this film so much. Joaquin Phoenix is outstanding at this. As ever he plays, a dark,damaged and deranged soul like he was born to do it.
  It is toecurling, bleak and disturbing in places, and will stay with you for a long time afterwards.
  If you know what to expect from it, then you will not be disappointed. It is a Marmite film though, and you will either love it or hate it.
